Spotted at Atlanta Market

Holiday Trends

After an extended period of more-of-the-same in holiday decor, some bold new themes have finally started popping up in the seasonal category at Atlanta Gift Market.

Cozy Christmas

Cozy and comfortable holiday decor still made a big showing in seasonal showrooms. Traditional Christmas decor in go-to reds and greens was a primary theme, featuring popular Christmas icons and classic tartans and checks. Nutcrackers, reindeer, silhouetted trees, and wintery villages were particularly prevalent.

Nostalgic Christmas

In a similar vein, Nostalgic Christmas made a strong showing with vintage renditions of Jolly Old St. Nick, Frosty-like snowmen, and cute reindeer on everything from wall decor and throw pillows to plates and coffee mugs. Palettes within the Nostalgic trend have started to include sugary pastels in a bigger way, particularly in blush pink and cool mint green hues.

Boho Christmas

Boho Christmas decor had a significant presence, invoking artisanal crafts with tassels, pom-poms, patchwork, macramé, folk art motifs, and all things felt in a bright spectrum of colors.

Luxe Christmas

Luxe Christmas also appeared in several places, with silver and gold finishes mixed in with pastel metallics, feathers, and gilded poinsettias.

Woodland Christmas

Woodland themes were fairly common, featuring ornaments and decor in natural and white-accented wood, lots of pinecones, mushrooms, and forest foliage.

New & Noteworthy

Kailo Chic at C.R. Gibson had a fun, fresh take on seasonal decor, with classic icons in brightly colored acrylic cut-outs, industrial grids, retro stripes, and greetings in retro typefaces.

Other standout items included Grandmillennial chinoiserie cachepot ornaments and pearl garland, nostalgic 90s-inspired checkered ball ornaments and knit stockings, and cottagecore honeycomb pinwheels and tabletop trees in chintz patterns made from recycled paper.
