The New York Botanical Garden partners with Oscar de la Renta
OSCAR DE LA RENTA FOR THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NEW YORK – April 17, 2014
The New York Botanical Garden is pleased to announce a new limited edition tabletop collection in collaboration with Oscar de la Renta, LLC.
The collection consists of 20 pieces that celebrate Oscar de la Renta’s passion for gardening and botanical patterns. Prints and engravings from rare 18th and 19th century botanical books were selected personally by Oscar de la Renta to be used in the collection.
“When I think of Oscar de la Renta my mind immediately travels to the gardens he has created, his love of flowers, his sense of romance, and how this has influenced his collections and his houses,” said Carolina Irving, Creative Director, Oscar de la Renta Home. “This collaboration is such a natural extension of who Oscar is and his great passion for gardens.”
“The New York Botanical Garden’s partnership with Oscar de la Renta represents an ideal pairing of sensibilities, melding historical elegance and contemporary design,” said Richard Pickett, Vice President for Retail and Business Development, The New York Botanical Garden. “Oscar de la Renta’s application of images from rare books in the LuEsther T. Mertz Library showcases the time-honored beauty of botanical artwork in a fresh and vibrant way. We are thrilled to have this stunning collection available in stores throughout the country, highlighting the Garden’s magnificent resources and spreading awareness of its pursuit of excellence in horticulture, education, and plant research and conservation.”
Oscar de la Renta for The New York Botanical Garden pieces will be available for purchase in late April at Oscar de la Renta boutiques, on oscardelarenta.com, at select retail locations, as well as through the New York Botanical Garden’s Shop and website at nybgshop.org. The partnership was brokered by Jewel Branding & Licensing, the licensing agency for The New York Botanical Garden.
