About the Artist

Kendra Dandy is an illustrator/surface designer and Philadelphia native. While trying to find a way to be involved in the fashion world by combining her love for illustration and fashion design without the ability to produce clothing, she stumbled upon the world of surface design, which allowed her to apply her painting skills in a new and exciting way to a myriad of products.

Her most loved influences are nature themes such as fruit and flowers, fashion, makeup, the 50s and 60s, junk food and animals.

Bold and Unconventional

Kendra Dandy’s quirky designs are celebrated around the world . The young illustrator has a loyal and quickly expanding social media following of over 50,000 fans and successful collaborations with leading companies including Anthropologie, Vans, Nike, Sephora, Estee Lauder, and Bobbi Brown.

With a style and voice that is uniquely her own, Kendra Dandy’s designs are bright, young, original, and cheerful.  Each illustration provokes a conversation and is refreshingly unexpected—from seductively winking fries to leopards strutting bright red pumps—the audience is constantly taken on a whimsical and fun journey.

The Bouffants & Broken Hearts Brand

In 2012, Kendra launched the brand Bouffants & Broken Hearts. Bouffants represents a sense of individuality, self-expression, and fun. Nothing about the brand, or the art, is conventional – the mix of patterns, colors, and subjects is original; designs are loud, and everyday life is reinterpreted in amusing ways.

Her unique and colorful patterns are licensed globally and featured on products including bedding, decorative pillows, tabletop, tech accessories, beauty packaging, stationery, and fashion accessories.
