Gabriella Cortese, the designer behind Antik Batik, has a spirit for traveling within her soul. Italian by birth and Parisian by adoption, she has criss-crossed the globe. She launched Antik Batik following a journey to Bali in 1992 and since then, the brand has evolved into an eclectic melting pot of European and Indonesian influences -‐-‐ romantic designs combined with colorful prints and eye-‐catching embellishments.

About Antik Batik
Gabriella Cortese, the designer behind Antik Batik, has a spirit for traveling within her soul. Born in Turin, she enjoyed a wonderful childhood there. Her Hungarian grandmother taught her how to embroider, while her mother embodied the model of eternal elegance.
ANTIK BATIK was born, in 1992, during a journey of initiation in Bali. The thousand-‐year-‐old batik technique for printing silk inspired Gabriella to create her first range of pareos and scarves. Having discovered India, Gabriella explored other types of ancestral savoir-‐faire: hand embroidery, hand Weaving and “bandhani”, an artisanal dyeing process.
